Enhancements to the Subscription On Hold Capability

New Functionality

As of May 23rd, 2019, subscriptions in the trialing state may be placed on hold.


If you allow the customer to place their subscriptions on hold themselves (i.e. via the Billing Portal), you will want to ensure that you are reacting to state changes into the on_hold state, since there are now potentially more opportunities for them to choose to pause/hold the subscription.

Previous Functionality

Placing a subscription on hold was previously only available when a subscription was in active state. Now placing a subscription on hold is available when a subscription is either active or trialing.
