API Limitation Changes

As of August 7, 2018, we have modified our API request and Chargify Direct handling to be able to block requests based on certain account scenarios. The intent is to be able to return a 422 response code along with an error message explaining the cause of the blocked request.

  • Your Chargify subscription is canceled.
    • Note: Prior to this change, your API requests were blocked with a 401 with no explanatory error message.
  • Your Chargify trial has reached an end.
  • The Site you’re making a request for is in the process of “clearing site data”
    • Note: any API request for another site that is in a good state will NOT be blocked
  • The Site you’re making a request for has been deleted.
    • Note: any API request for another site that is in a good state will NOT be blocked
