MailChimp integration?

Hey guys,

Not sure how familiar you are with MailChimp but it's a great email service with a ton of cool integrations. I noticed Recurly has an integration that feeds customer data right into MailChimp. (No idea how well it works.) Link: http://connect.mailchimp.com/integrations/recurly

Something like this would be very cool for Chargify. Right now we download and upload our customer lists as they change to keep our email DB updated in MC. Anything to streamline that process would be awesome.

Best,
Mike

Hi there,

Yep, Mailchimp is really cool.

We recently added a function right in Chargify to email your users, so that may be useful.

And there is a 3rd party who's planning a Mailchimp to Chargify integration, which we'll of course let everyone know about once it's ready.

Thanks.

Any update on mailchimp intergration? Would be awesome to know how many people buy a subscription based on our email marketing.

Sorry, no update yet. Wish we had some concrete info, but it's on our mind to move this along. Love Mailchimp!

HI. I currently use Mailchimp as well. It would be great to have this integration. Is there any update by change? Thanks!

Really soon! The integrator doing the work thought they'd have it out this week, but a key guy got sick. So we know it's soon.

Hey guys,

The code got turned over to us, and we've done an initial review. It looks pretty sparse, to be honest. No tests, for instance.

So, our dev who's handling this thinks we can have something ready to poke in a few weeks, so that puts us at early March.

It will be alpha quality, very basic, and we'd appreciate a small number of MailChimp diehards who are willing to help uncover any shortcomings.

Sorry the report isn't rosier, but it is moving.

Thanks for the update Lance.

Will the code allow the interface to update and ensure that only active paying subscription members or on the MailChimp 'to send' account? If not I will have my tech my own through our API with Chargify and Mailchimp. i know its early but if you happen to know either way it would help me a lot.

Thanks!

Here's what the developer said...

Yes, the MailChimp integration updates the 'status' and 'product' fields within your Mailchimp list. So every time someone cancels or changes product/plan, your campaigns can filter them out. Note that to do this you need to utilize list segmentation within MailChimp. There's a great walkthrough on how to do that here:
http://mailchimp.com/features/segmentation/

Also note that you can send MailChimp auto-responder campaigns based on cancellations, upgrades, status changes, plan changes, etc.

Our internal developers are pretty concerned about stuff like lack of test coverage, so we're going to refine it a bit and then be very cautious about opening it up to a few people. People on this forum like you make a lot of sense to check it out first and let us know what you think.

Sorry it keeps getting pushed back. We had a 3rd party working on it but it didn't get completed. Meanwhile, merchants have been telling us they want other things more quickly, like invoice payments and better analytics/charting, so those things got priority when we mapped out Q22012. We're hoping we can get back on MailChimp in Q3 or Q4.
